Today is a mix of fabric strips both 1 1/2 inch and 2 1/2 inch. The finished size of the quilt block is ten inches by ten inches.

The cutting colors are taken from my jpeg on the left.

Cut 1 Pink – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 2 Blue – 2 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew to make center

Cut 1 Green – 5 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew to center sides.

Cut 2 Yellow – 2 ½” x 4 ½”

Sew to the top

Cut 2 Gold – 2 ½” x  8 ½”

Sew to the right and left side

 

Cut 2 Yellow – 8 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew to the top and bottom

Cut 2 Green – 10 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew to the right and left side

Log Cabin Quilt Pattern Block VERY Simple

Changing it up a bit, by using cut strips of 2 1/2″ inches. This log cabin quilt block go’s together very quick and it’s a great way to use up all the strips you have around.

Cut 1 Red – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 2 Gray – 2 ½”x 2 ½”

Cut 2 Red – 6 ½” x 2 ½”

Sew as shown

 

Cut 2 Gray – 6 ½” x 2 ½”

Sew to the top and bottom

 

Cut 2 Blue – 10 ½” x 2 ½”

Sew to the sides.

Log Cabin Quilt Pattern Block for YOU !

This is how the log cabin quilt block started, straight piecing and colors, dark on one side and light of other. Well…in my world these are light and dark colors.  IF you are new to quilting log cabin is the best, straight piecing and very quick results.   Doing a log cabin I like to just strips and just go, but all cutting is here for you. Cut 2 Blue – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 2 Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Make the center 4-patch

 

Cut 1 Pink – 2 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the top

Cut 1 Pink- 3 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the right side

Cut 1 Blue – 3 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the bottom

Cut 1 Blue – 4 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the left side

 

Cut 1 Pink – 4 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the top

Cut 1 Pink – 5 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the right side

Cut 1 Blue – 5 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the bottom

Cut 1 Blue – 6 ½ “x 1 ½” Sew to the left side

 

Cut 1 Purple – 6 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the top

Cut 1 Pink – 7 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the right side

Cut 1 Blue – 7 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the bottom

Cut 1 Blue – 8 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the left side

 

Cut 1 Purple – 8½” x 1 ½” Sew to the top

Cut 1 Pink – 9½” x 1 ½” Sew to the right side

Cut 1 Blue – 9 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the bottom

Classic Log Cabin Quilt Block Pattern made Fun for YOU !

I have been on a bit of a journey, in my own mind and traveling over the past month. I have painted our living room and dining room. Started to understand myself better (more to come) and just stopped being to hard on myself.  So, I am REALLY behind on getting out April patterns and that’s OK.   I will be sharing a set of Log Cabin quilt block I did for a quilt a few years ago.   Finished size of these quilt blocks will be ten inches by ten inches.  Sign up  below for my Newsletter below, it’s a FIRST

The cutting colors MATCH the jpeg on the left. I can’t seem to follow even my own instructions ! 

Cut 2 Pink – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 2 White – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Make center 4 -patch

Cut 2 Blue – 4 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew to the top and bottom

Cut 2 Yellow – 6 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew to the sides

 

 Cut 7 Pink – 2 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 7 Gray – 2 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew as shown, top and bottom

Add sides

Cut 2 Blue – 8 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew to the top and bottom
