Making it Better with a Fish Quilt Block

One Fish to a School of Fish

Last week I told about a Fish Quilt that seemed to make everything just a bit better. Today I’m sharing the quilt pattern with you ! Last weeks story HERE

This quilt is loved, used, washed and dried. Finished size of ONE quilt block is ten inches by ten inches. My quilt I made 6 quilt blocks, added sashing and binding. It long to be used in a reclining chair.

Cutting for this ONE block as shown on the Left

Cut 3 Green – 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″
Cut 3 White – 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″
Make Triangles

Cut 4 White – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

Cut 1 White – 3 1/2 x 2 1/2″
Cut 1 White – 4 1/2″ x 10 1/2″

Sew as Shown

You will need FOUR of this block to make a School of Fish

This is the seating at Grand #3’s soccer game from the fall.
It’s his Daddy’s VERY old quilt. I think it is about 18-20 years old… I machine pieced and had it long arm quilted. The pattern is drafted for you here too ! !

Cut 4 Pink – 4 1/2″ x 4 1/2″
Cut 2 Purple – 6 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Cut 1 Purple – 14 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Cut 4 Gray – 4 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Cut 4 Gray – 6 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

I did 5 blocks across and 6 blocks down, 30 total blocks.

Simple 2 inch border, quilt and binding.

Autumn Night Quilt Pattern Block

Today is my birthday, this quilt design is mine and one of my favorite. A day all about me???

Finished quilt block size is twelve inches by twelve inches, yes it has a lot of pieces, but it’s not hard to piece. I like to lay all

This is a quilt
block which I would do all the piecing first.

Cut the parts

Make the triangles, lay them out and then piece the block together.
