Quilt Block Patterns

B. Annie Quilt Pattern is all about ME! I don’t say that a lot.

This Quilt started with a simple Bear Paw quilt block and then drawing and drawing sixteen quilt blocks that took that simple block and made all sixteen mine.

The quilt as always going to have white background, I love quilt lines on white fabric, pink of course that’s me, adding color with greens, red, in both solids and prints. The outside border is pieced with green square and triangle leaves.

Have you ever made a quilt and as each quilt block is finished you giggle at what you just did? This is how I felt as this quilt was going together, into a finished eighty-eight by eighty-four-inch quilt. Kind of Perfect.

That’s my B. Annie quilt all about ME! Should say that more, one of my faults? Maybe it’s just taking care of so many.

Now IF you have read this far?!?! and who does?!? I am going to share these! Yes, AI helped me do them.
BUT I did all the art, all the quilt blocks, all the sewing, quilting, the quilt book cover, and naming everything, it HELPED me put it together in an ad sheet… AND I LOVE it! Just need to share !
AND it took me a bit of time to do!

I’m sharing one of The Quilt Ladies Quilt Patterns, a simple pumpkin quilt pattern. Finished quilt top is 15” X 15”

Start piecing from top to bottom.

Row 1

Cut 2 Background – 1 ½” x 3”

Cut 1 Stem – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Row 2 and Row 4

Cut 1 Orange – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”

Cut 1 Background – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”

Make Triangle

Cut 2 Background – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Row 3

Cut 2 Background – 1 ½’ x 3 ½”

Cut 1 Orange – 4 ½” x 3 ½”

Cut 6 Background – 1 ½” x 6 ½”

Sew between 2 pumpkins, and on ends 2 times

Cut 3 Background 1 ½” x 15 ½”

Sew to the top, middle and bottom

Cut Binding 2 ½” x 65”

A Four Inch Quilt Block Pattern for YOU to Make

Free Weekly Quilt Pattern

GIVE it a TRY ! it’s easy, all you use is triangles and squares. Here is one of my four inch quilt blocks, don’t over think it. Sew as you would any quilt block.

Old Maids Puzzle. This quilt block has a finished size of four inches by four inches. Making the quilt as shown in the book you will have a finished quilt thirty inches by thirty inches, perfect as a lap quilt or a baby quilt.

I made this quilt block with very simple colors and background, but you can have lots of fun with it. Remember to press NOT IRON a quilt block and I always press as I go each seam. I have a small ironing board right by my sewing machine. I posted how I do quilt triangles

Cut 2 Red – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”

Cut 2 White – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”

Make Triangles (4)

Cut 1 Blue – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 1 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Here is a Complete quilt pattern for you. I think it’s a fun quilt because of the colors and the black making it pop. This quilt LOOKS hard BUT it’s just triangles.

I cut 3 7/8″ blocks to make my triangles, you can cut any size you would like. I made and quilted this quilt YEARS ago and I have used it as a table topper, a front door quilt and as a lay over the back of the couch quilt for color. My quilt has a finished size of 30 inches by 30 inches.

For the center

Cut 1 Blue – 3 7/8″ x 3 7/8″
Cut 1 Orange – 3 7/8″ x 3 7/8″
Make Triangles How I make my Triangles

Cut 2 Blue – 3 7/8″ x 3 7/8″
Cut 2 Orange – 3 7/8″ x 3 7/8″
Cut 4 Black – 3 7/8″ x 3 7/8″
Make Triangles

Cut 4 Black – 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″

Sew units as shown, sew to the sides. Sew top and bottom as shown and sew

Orange and Blue Star Quilt — Free Star Quilt Pattern

Cut 4 Blue 3 1/2″ x 24 1/2″

Cut 4 Orange – 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″

Sew one orange square on to each end of two blue strips

Sew sides on first and then the top and bottom

I cut my binding 2 1/2″ by 130″

A Table Topper Quilt Pattern to Make

Forty-seven years of marriage—can you believe it?
That’s 17,155 days of wedded bliss, occasional debates over everything, and more shared meals than we can count (some more successful than others), I really do try?!?

And since 47 years deserves a little something special and I love a simple quilt project, they are kind of like a marriage, quilting requires patience, creativity, and a good seam ripper.

Seams are perfectly straight, but sometimes they need a little adjustment, and in the end, it all comes together beautifully (kind of like Husband and I).

So here’s to 47 years of love, laughter, and never quite agreeing on why we need a eating schedule?!? Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re off to celebrate—with cake, of course.
Cheers to love, stitches, and YOU make this happy table topper, it’s one I use all the time. It has a finished size of 18″ x 24″, made with simple 2 1/2″ squares. Nothing better than 2 1/2″ cut squares.

70 – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ red quilt squares
Sew 7 quilt squares across and 10 down,

Cut 2 Red – 20 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Sew to the long sides

Cut 2 Red – 14 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Cut 4 Corner – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Sew to the 14 1/2″ Strip
Sew to the Top and Bottom
Cut Binding 2 1/2″ x 86″
