Our plan had been to live in the condo for a bit and then purchase a house, you know a house like we sold..I don’t think that is happening anytime soon. AND… I hate my sewing room, yes I said it, “HATE” my sewing room. This is the THIRD do of it, there was no committee meeting about it…since Husband retired, he cares about me decorating???
I painted the two walls the standard white of our condo about two weeks before doing the strips. And BEFORE you all go off the deep end, I’m a REALLY good painter and I don’t cover things, I am slow and steady. Kind of, I paint at my own risk. BUT, you may need to cover….THIS piece of paper is the most important of ALL. Plan it out. I like to work a couple of hours a day. I NEVER paint when I am tired. Nothing goes right and I really like painting so for me it’s get up, breakfast and paint. In the pool by 1:00, always my end goal.
I used a level and one of my quilting rulers, ten inch one, very fine lines across the wall with a pencil and then added the blue tape just on the outside of the lines.
I added the Valspar Clear Glaze to the paint, it’s doesn’t change the paint color it just lets you work a bit longer with the paint, it doesn’t dry as fast. NOT a paid promo…
I finished painting the strips and removed the tape pretty quickly.
I let it dry a couple of days and then added the up and down strip. Same as before, measure, mark, tape and paint.
Did just a bit of touch up and I LOVE it.
I designed and built a HUGE table, with Husband’s help, will share soon.
It has been a VERY long bit. I am trying to be back, my Mom is in her ninth week of rehab. and I’m just about….done. I will share more when it’s possible and when I have the were about me to do it.
Husband said last Friday night, “Grab your camera and let’s go see the Clydesdales” We drove down, pulled in, parked in the first row, walked around the corner AND

I hadn’t felt well for days. Thank you Budweiser Clydesdales, “That’s Second to None.”
I hope you enjoyed the Month of Augusts FREE quilt patterns. It was a huge project and I don’t think I will be doing that anytime soon again.

I always have a VERY well outlined plan and this past month blow that to crap. My mom fell and broke her right femur 13 cm, one plate and ten screws later. Five days in the hospital and now in full time rehab, no weight on her right leg for six weeks. She pretty much is done, she had very little strength before the fall and now….it’s up to her and her spirit how much she will regain. And probably me?
All the emotions can be seen on my face, I am exhausted, have done
nothing I want or like to do and when I do have time….I just can’t seem to do it??? In my wimpy voice, “I didn’t get the book done I wanted, I didn’t get any art started for the holiday’s and the most important I’m not swimming every day.” I, I, I……
So for the next little bit, I’m going to just be ! I need to get myself together !Please take a moment and look around my quilt pattern shop. Now it the time to start a new quilt !
From The Quilt book which started my quilt pattern company “The Ladies” quilt pattern book. “The Ladies” are The Quilt Ladies. They quilt every Tuesday together and after years of doing that, they’ve decided to do a quilt pattern book. So “The Ladies” was born, a quilt block sampler pattern book with 68 – Eight by Eight Inch quilt pattern blocks. If you make the quilt as in the book the finished quilt measures 76″ x 84″ All straight pieced, all cutting and piecing instructions included.
Quilt Block has a finished size of eight inches by eight inches.
Don’t let this quilt block overwhelm you,
I have taken the quilt block and broke it down into units and you will have no problem sewing and doing this quilt block . This is a larger quilt block fourteen inches by fourteen inches
I have to do different things in quilting to keep it interesting to me. This is one of my little quilt patterns, finished size two inches by two inches.
3 Dark 1 3/8″ X 1 3/8 ” 3 White 1 3/8″ X 1 3/8 ” Make triangles
This is one of the quilt block from my old Quilt Ladies site and it took off on Pinterest???? I have NO idea how or what makes one quilt pattern do that and other’s not?? But, this quilt block’s name is “Corn and Beans” and being an Iowa girl this quilt block was all about the name. Doing this quilt block you will use many different types, triangles, quarter square triangles and flying geese. See all my quilt patterns at The Quilt Ladies Quilt Pattern Shop
