I have been on a bit of a journey, in my own mind and traveling over the past month. I have painted our living room and dining room. The cutting colors MATCH the jpeg on the left. I can’t seem to follow even my own instructions ! 

Cut 2 Pink – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 2 White – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Make center 4 -patch

Cut 2 Blue – 4 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew to the top and bottom

Cut 2 Yellow – 6 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew to the sides

 

 Cut 7 Pink – 2 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 7 Gray – 2 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew as shown, top and bottom

Add sides

Cut 2 Blue – 8 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew to the top and bottom

Cut 2 Blue 10 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew to the sides.

Make a Quilt Pattern – My Growing Garden Quilt Block

This is one of the classes I used to teach. You do squares, triangles, how to press, color placement and how to get this quilt block as shown or on point.
I can’t find the quilt??? I know it’s here some place????  I don’t think it’s ever had pictures taken of it, if it did, what did I do with them??  Old Lady moment?   Anyway, here is my Growing Garden quilt pattern.

Finished Size of Growing Garden is Ten inches by ten inches (10″ x 10)

Growing Garden Quilt Block Pattern

You will need 3 of this unit make each flower a  different color

Tan Flower is shown – do a RED and a Purple too

Cut 2 Tan – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 1 Tan – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 1 Red – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Make triangle, only use 1

Cut 1 Yellow – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 1 White – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 1 White – 2 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 2 Pink – 4 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 1 Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew as shown

Make a Quilt Block March – My State of Ohio Quilt Block

I have been working on a quilt block of EVERY State. I have them all drawn, jpeg’s and maps done, I just can’t seem to find time to get them ALL pieced in fabric, but they are wonderful and I’m sharing my quilt block pattern I did from the State of Ohio. Finished Quilt Block is Sixteen Inches by Sixteen Inches (16″ x 16″)

Make a Rolling Bow Quilt Block Pattern

Cut 1 White – 6 ½” x 6 ½”

Cut 1 Lt. Blue – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” 

Cut 1 Blue – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” 

Mark squares corner to corner SEWING LINE. Place on corner, good side to good, sew on line, trim and press

Cut 4 Blue – 3 ½” x 3 ½” Sew as shown and add on sides.

Here is a fun quilt block to make, my Nine Patch Star Triangle. Going a bit smaller today, a five inch by five inch quilt block.   This is a really fun block to piece and the colors can match or be scraps. Stop in at my Etsy Shop and see all my Quilt Patterns.

Cut 4 White   1 1/2″ X 1 1/2″

Cut 4 White   1 7/8” X 1 7/8”

Cut 4 Blue     1 7/8” X 1 7/8”

Sew together to form triangles

Cut 2 Yellow 1 7/8” X 1 7/8”

January Fun Time Quilt Pattern for YOU

Here is a Complete quilt pattern for you. I think it’s a fun quilt because of the colors and the black making it pop. Over the next few days you will beTutorial Orange and Blue Star Quilt Pattern able to make the quilt as shown below.  This quilt LOOKS hard BUT it’s just triangles.

I cut 3 7/8″ blocks to make my triangles, you can cut any size you would like. I made and quilted this quilt YEARS ago and I have used it as a table topper, a front door quilt and as a lay over the back of the couch quilt for color.  My quilt has a finished size of 30 inches by 30 inches.
