This is Quilt pattern Two – Cutting is for TWO quilt blocks.

Cut 8 Green – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ Cut 8 Background – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ Cut 2 Red 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ Sew a 9 Patch Block

Cut 8 Red – 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″ Cut 8 Background 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″ Make Triangles

Cut 8 Background – 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ Cut 8 Background – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ Sew as shown.

Cut 4 Yellow – 4 7/8″ x 4 7/8″ Cut 4 Background 4 7/8″ x 4 7/8″ Make Triangles

Sew rolls together as shown below.

Finished quilt block is fourteen inches by fourteen inches.

Cut 4 Yellow – 4 1/2” x 2 1/2”

Cut 8 White – 2 1/2” x 2 1/2”

Make Flying Geese

Cut 4 Burgundy – 2 1/2” x 2 1/2

Cut 6 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 6 Green – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Make Triangles

Cut 2 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 2 Burgundy – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Make Triangles

Do 4 of this Unit

Cut 8 White – 2 1/2” x 2 1/2”

Turn block and sew into rows and rows into the block

Happy 4th of JULY !

Nothing makes be happier than a RED, WHITE and BLUE Quilt. I have made a lot of them over the years here are a FEW

This is one of the very first little quilts I ever made, machined pieced and hand quilted. Some of the stars are not perfect, but I love this little quilt. Finished size is eighteen inches by eighteen inches.

This is one of those, “What was I thinking?” quilts I have…. Machine pieced and I hand quilted. Each log cabin strip was cut at one inch by one inch. Finished quilt is twenty inches by twenty inches.

Long ago, when Husband was working, I had VERY long holiday weekends. This quilt was the result of a VERY long 4th of JULY in Nebraska. I hate of say, “It’s not quilted….Yet?” Machine pieced !

This is Son #2’s Graduation quilt from 2000, the quilts been used and loved. And I just saw it hanging on a quilt stand at their house. I don’t remember this being expensive fabric but it has worn well, machine pieced and I had it long arm quilted. This has always been a favorite pattern of mine. Cut 1 Blue – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

Make Triangles

Make into 9-patch

Cut 4 Red – 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″

Cut 12 White – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

Cut 6 White – 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″

Cut 6 Blue – 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″

Make Triangles

Cut 4 Lt. Blue – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

Sew as shown

How to make the Pin Wheel Quilt Block from my Great-great Grandmother – quilt pattern below for you.

Finished block will be 6″ x 6″

Cutting for ONE Block

Cut 2 Green – 3 7/8″ x 3 7/8″

cut each block from corner to corner

(shown as gray)

Cut 1 Pink 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″

cut corner to corner and then again, corner to corner

(shown as red )

Cut 1 White 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″

cut corner to corner and then again, corner to corner

(shown as white)

Piece 4 blocks together as shown

Sew into rows

Sew rows together

My Great, Great Grandmother's Pin Wheel Quilt Block Pattern

My Great-Great Grandmother’s Quilt This quilt was a gift to my mother from her Great Grandmother. And then a Gift to me from My Mother. Making it by, GREAT-GREAT Grandmother’s Gift to ME ! Well…That’s how I like to look at it. I never met her and my mom only remember’s helping with the peddle sewing machine. I use this quilt and love sleeping under it. It goes in the washer and now living here in Florida and not having a clothes line it does go it the dryer….Yes… it bothers me too, but…. the colors are still very bright, but the Florida sun won on these photo’s.

The hand quilting on this quilt is WONDERFUL

This is packing tubs set up as a bedroom to sale our home. This is the quilt that I use every night watching TV. Machine pieced and hand quilted.

The Quilt for the Grand’s to use here at our house, Grand #3 loved to play on it, eat lunch on it and have popcorn on it ! Machine pieced and hand quilted.
