A Little Quilt Block for you to make. I know, I know every see’s a little quilt block and can’t think for making it. It’s easy, do the same as a larger quilt block, go slow and you can do it.
It’s a Churn-Dash outside and a four-patch center.
Finished Block Size 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Cutting for one block
Cut 2 Dark Green – 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″
Cut 2 Background – 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″
Make Triangles
Cut 2 Burgundy – 1″ x 1 “
Cut 2 Background – 1″ x 1″
Make 4-Patch
Cut 4 Dark Green – 1 1/2″ x 1″
Cut 2 Background – 1 1/2 x 3/4″
Sew into rows and rows into block, trim seam allowance to 1/16″
Mine is machine pieced and hand quilted

Dress Me in Style – Slack and Sweater
Dress Me Simple
Have you heard about how to dress in a daily uniform? It’s a way to make clothing simple. I did it for years working at a bank, black suits, color in tops and shoes. But always black slack, skirt with black jacket (dating myself with a work jacket and panty hose) I hated them.
I love a top, bottom and add a sweater or jacket as needed. Here is Florida, it’s shorts most the time, but evenings are still a slack for me. Sweaters are my go to thing, I wear them daily, as a rode or even as a pool cover up. Doing the uniform, I have the basic’s already in my closet, it’s fun adding color.

Not all Quilts are for Sale
I get an email or comment about my quilts pretty much weekly, thank you, but my quilts are not for sale.
Most of my older quilts are from Estate Sales and Auctions from our time in the Midwest. I use all my quilts, old and new and most still go in the washing and dryer, as we live in an association and I can’t have a drying line….It would come down after using…wouldn’t use on Tuesday (mowing day)….can’t change it….OLD people.
This is one of my quilts which I purchased around 1985ish? in Burlington, IA. I was new to quilting and I headed to an auction with two little boys, can you see that being a mistake! On the whole they did pretty good, but the waiting. This is one of three quilts I purchased that day. You couldn’t see the quilt, it’s was folded, folded and folded, then hand stitched around the outside edge, but I could see the quilting. $24 for three quilts. I took me days to get the stitching out. Someone didn’t want them to see the light of day. The quilts are not perfect, BUT very close. I use and love them. And they are NOT FOR SALE. Valentine’s Quilter Table Topper
A Quilter’s Valentine
This little quilt has a finished size of 20″ x 22″ and is great as a scrap pieced quilt. I machined pieced and machine quilted.
You will need 9, 4-Patch blocksCut 36 squares – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Sew together to form 4-patch blocks
Lay them out and like color placement.
Cut 6 Dark – 4 1/2″ x 1 1/2″
Sew into 3 Rows
Cut 4 – 2 1/2″x 1 1/2″ Cut 6 – 2 1/2″x 4 1/2
Sew into 2 Rows
Sew all Rows together to form center of quilt
Cut 2 Dark – 2 1/2″ x 16 1/2″ Cut 2 Red – 2 1/2 x 16 1/2″
Sew to the sides
Cut 2 Red – 2 1/2″ x 22 1/2 Sew to the top and bottom
Cut binding 88″ x 2 1/4″
I’m going to TRY and do machine quilting on this, it’s gong to be my TRY !

Dress Me Pretty – Red Dress
Step Style up with RED !
What I do at 4:30 AM…..I shop !
Sounds sad, but sometimes I just can’t sleep. Maybe it’s the laptop sitting…waiting for me…calling me by name!?!?
If it was a normal time, I would be ordering something over the top to wear out, BUT not so, it’s a little red dress that I can always wear, dress up, dress down, wear with a sweater and legging. That BLACK dress…has me written all over it ! LOVE!!

Make Triangles

Quilted Table Topper
When I was teaching, this is my beginner’s quilt 5 week class, the class would have used 2 1/2″ squares, I cut mine down for a table topper size, 1 1/2 inch squares. Machine pieced and hand quilted. 
HERE is my binding tutorial for you
On a regular size quilt, I would cut my binding strips 2 1/2″ wide, but on this little one, I cut them 1 1/4″ wide.
I like, little quilts to have little binding.
All the sewing is the same, 1/4″ seam allowance.
But, I like to trim the backing and batting about in half.
This is before the binding is turned and sewn down. You can turn it under and see what you like before trimming around the entire quilt. I like to hand sew the binding down, I can get the corners, better and yes, you will have to mess with them a bit to get them perfect, they are VERY tiny. The Before
