I just finished I Am Malala and what a great read. I read it in about two day and have been thinking about her since. It’s her account of what happened to her and how with bravely, her parents standing with her in love, encouragement and grit. And those brother who never changed the way they treated her. And how she did and is fighting for education for both boys and girls. What we cannot forget is what education can and does for us all. GREAT read. I Am Malala

Star Quilt Pattern to Make – The Quilt Ladies
Today is a day to remember.
We have two things that happens every year on this date in our lives too. Grand #3’s Birthday and Son #2 wedding anniversary.
Nothing better than a quilt pattern to share, this block has a finished size of eight inches by eight inches. This star pattern in from my book, The Ladies.

I really do read the Book !
I love books and it’s one of my MANY things and after learning to keep my mind moving forward, I started reading a chapter a day. I think with me it’s just getting me to stop and start. She meets Patrick, and the story really begins, Patrick has a stalker. A different kind, if there such a thing. The story held me and hearing the voice of the stalker made the book very interesting. Star Quilt Pattern – The Ladies
Nothing better than a star quilt pattern, this is one of my quilt blocks that has just about everything in it. From a four-patch quilt block, a log cabin, squares and triangles. Finished size of this quilt block is eight inches by eight inches. From my quilt book, The Ladies.
Cutting Instructions follows the pattern on the left
Cut 4 Lt. Blue – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Cut 4 Green – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Photo Boom on my White Lily
I like to edit photo’s in my camera, meaning, I don’t just point and shot. I point it and then mess with the way is looks, move the camera left, right, up and down. Change mode on camera. Thank goodness I didn’t do that here on my White Lily Photo.
In other words WAY over think every bit of the photo. Why? I don’t like fixing it time on the computer later, just shot it right ! I said out loud many times, “Shot the picture! ” and had results like this.

Cut 2 Blue – 1 ½” x 1 ½”
Cut 2 Green – 1 ½” x 1 ½”
Make the center 4-patch
Cut 1 Pink – 2 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the top
Cut 1 Pink- 3 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the right side
Cut 1 Blue – 3 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the bottom
Cut 1 Blue – 4 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the left side
Cut 1 Pink – 4 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the top
Cut 1 Pink – 5 ½” x 1 ½” Sew to the right side

After our vacation with the family in South Dakota, Husband and I took a few days in Denver. We visited the Denver Botanical Gardens.
These gardens were over the moon ! and I took LOTS of pictures. Just a few here My Canon Camera
The lilies were in full bloom, this will probably become a book cover.
This is ONLY one side of the Lily Pond, I had a BALL !
