May Day is a WELCOME Spring and my May Day Basket Quilt Pattern. The tradition of leaving flowers and gifts on doorsteps and the FIRST day to go barefoot outside. From my days with my Grandmother it was the day to move bee boxes and the day to plant corn, cucumber and turnip(which we never ate) in the garden. I think my favorite is it’s Mary’s day, May and motherhood led Christians to adopt May as the month of our Lady, the Mother of God and our heavenly Mother.
As Quilter’s, May BASKET day and here is Mine for YOU ! Finished size of my quilt block is 14″ x 14″ and it’s all squares and triangles with straight piecing, so here we GO ! I have broken this quilt pattern down into sections. I am working on the quilt block (will share) it’s probably going to become a complete quilt pattern ! See My Quilt Pattern Shop
