53 Quilt Block Patterns all in ONE Quilt
Nothing makes a quilter happier than a beautiful quilt and we seem to NEVER have enough quilt patterns and this book has them in an assortment of sizes. From a beginner to an advanced quilter, these quilt blocks are time tested.
The quilt featured in the book has a finished size of 54” wide and 74” long.
A Getting Started section and how to do Quilt Binding section is also in the book. Quilt blocks are all different size, patterns can be used in all your quilting needs.
I had made pretty much all my clothes in high school, prom dresses to night gowns. After our boys arrived, I cross stitched and then moved to quilting. I started making quilted pillows first.
In 1984 we moved to Burlington, IA for Husband’s work and I went to a few quilt classes, auctions and was learning about quilting at every turn. I share this pin wheel quilt block this week too HERE
On a visit down to see us, my mother arrived with this quilt for me. As a child I’d never seen it, never heard anything about it.
My Great-great grandmother had made it for my mother. Mom remembers helping with cutting of the fabric and helped pump the sewing machine. It’s machine pieced and hand quilted.
The off blocks are done in a spider web quilt design.
The blocks are outline quilted
The edge and it’s tiny stitches.
This quilt is never used.
I have it out on a bed, I just like to looking at it and “I” do use it…All the time

“Old Maids Puzzle” what I like about this pattern is the name of it. And the simple use of triangles. You have seen this quilt block of years, did you know it’s name?? Finished Quilt Block Size 8” x 8”
This is another fun and quirky quilt pattern block for you to make. I like the way it’s traditional with a twist on the top. Basic straight line piecing using squares and triangles. It has a finished size of six inches by six inches.
Cut 4 Color 2 3/8” x 2 3/8”
Cut 4 Background 2 3/8” x 2 3/8”
Make triangles you will have one leftover
Cut 1 Background Corner 2” x 2”
Reserve block from Wednesday
Cut 2 Background Strip 2” X 31/2”
Sew as shown

This is how I use it on my dresser. It makes me happy to see it.
Make 16 basket blocks, finished quilt is 24” x 24” if made an shown. I use mine on my dresser or the center of our dining room table. But, would also be a great baby quilt or lap quilt.

Little Churn Dash Quilt Pattern Block. I love little quilt blocks and I piece my little one’s the same way a do a large quilt block. I use a 1/4″ seam allowance and trim it to 1/16″ after each seam is sewn.
This Churn Dash Block has a finished size of 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″. My quilt block is machine pieced and hand quilted.
