Fall is here, ever in Florida. I do kind of miss all the sweaters and getting out my cute boots, but this year let’s do the season with one of my quilt block patterns, Autumn Nights – Finished quilt block size is twelve inches by twelve inches, yes it has a lot of pieces, but it’s not hard to piece. Lay out your colors, if you like, or do it all scrappy. I have used fall colors to make this quilt block pattern, use what you have or like.
Taking last weeks simple quilt block and let’s have some fun with it. This new quilt block will also have a finished size of eight inches by eight inches. See how adding just squares the quilt block changes.

A classic quilt block pattern, Friendship Star and always one of the first you learn to make, squares and triangles.
Quilt block is a finished size of six inches by six inches. I make my triangles using this method, many ways to do them. The Quilt Ladies
Friendship Star – 6 inch by 6 inch finished quilt block
Cut 4 – 2 ½” x 2 ½”
Cut 2 Colored – 2 7/8”’ x 2 7/8” Cut 2 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
This quilt blocks Official name is Shoofly, it has MANY names, but I like Shoofly – it’s a triangle and square quilt block, making a 6 inch by 6 inch finished quilt block. I just used a charm pack to make my quilt block set. See The Quilt Ladies Quilt Pattern Shop

How to make Triangles Take the finished size, add 7/8″ to it and that’s the size you cut your square
Sew Good to good fabric, with a pencil draw a line corner to corner, this is The line you measure your ¼” seam allowance from Sew from edge to edge use a ¼” seam Cut in half on the pencil line, trim threads Open and press to the dark fabric, There will be 2 blocks
