It was one of the hardest things to do a few years ago to change myself up and start doing…what I like, love and need to do. www.bethanndoing.com was born. The Quilt Ladies are my heart and the quilt patterns will never go away, my Ladies seem to bring me peace, when nothing else can. I’m six years into photography and it’s opened my eyes up to see things a different way. I have taken classes, field trip, shot photos with others, but now it’s all about me ! See what I am doing, I maybe come a brand….it’s only taken me….eighteen years ! ! To figure myself, my work, my life and my art all out. NEVER say NEVER !
Everything is a process and working through that process is a mindset you have to have inside of you ! No one can do it for you, YOU have to do what ever it is YOU see yourself doing or becoming. I heard you all said, “I don’t want to do the work.” I’m using Fine Art America, a great company, that does all the work for you, just want a print?they do it, want my work on canvas? they do it, framing and matting is no problem for them. I had an email and the question, “How can you do it all?” Easy, I LOVE IT all. Hours seem like minutes and days seem like hours, I have found my groove. I do work 3-4 hours a day at everything and I love it. I enjoy what I do and who I am. This has taken me the past year to figure out. I went to my core because of what I thought I knew was turned on it’s head. But, I did it and I am better today than yesterday. “The Ladies” are The Quilt Ladies. They quilt every Tuesday together and after years of doing that, they’ve decided to do a quilt pattern book. So “The Ladies” was born, a quilt block sampler pattern book with 68 – Eight by Eight Inch quilt pattern blocks. All straight pieced, all cutting and piecing instructions included.

I’ve set myself a goal, clean out quilt files and save quilt pictures in the RIGHT File with the RIGHT Name on it…???…!!! It’s been a bit impossible, because I see something and I go down a rabbit hole, out comes draft paper, my camera, color pencils and more ideas.
But, look what I did find. The original art work, I did for The Quilt Ladies Book. This is the way The Quilt Ladies looked when I first had them printed and sold as single books. Cover designs done by Rita, here is her NOW

This quilt pattern is ALL about our second Grand. As a baby he never stopped and with big brother only two years older, it was hard at times as he was the sit and player. Some where along the way Grand#2 received the title, “Crazy Man” and it’s stuck !
