My ILLINOIS STATE Quilt Pattern – This is a GREAT quilt block to use a colored background. In the cutting instructions just changed the white color to a black or dark color. Finished size if fourteen inches by fourteen inches..
Cutting Instruction given for White Background.
Cut 12 Blue – 1 ½” x 2 1’/2”
Cut 8 Yellow – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”
Cut Corner to corner
Cut 4 Yellow – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Sew as Shown
Cut 8 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Cut Corner to corner
Add to top of unit as Shown
Cut 1 White – 2 ½” X 2 ½”
Cut 4 Yellow – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Cut Corner to corner
Cut 2 Gray – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” Cut Corner to corner
Sew as Shown
Cut 4 Gray – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Cut 4 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Make Triangles
Cut 8 White – 2 ½” x 2 ½”
Sew as Shown
Cut 8 White – 1 ½” x 5 ½”
Cut 4 Blue – 1 ½” x 1 ½”
