As 2024 wraps up, it’s hard not to reflect on a year that felt like a marathon through the medical wing of life. Quilt Pattern for you to make below too!

While it wasn’t the year I imagined, but we powered through. Leaving this chapter behind feels fantastic, but mostly it’s a chance to breathe, heal, and look ahead. I took many notes of all the testing and process of Husbands 2/3 pancreas and spleen removal. I am working on putting it into book form or into handbook form, I hope to sale some and then again…it’s a bit of a surgery…and wish all going through health issues a hug of love.

So here’s to closing the door on a tough but transformative 2024. We have done the hard part, and now it’s time to embrace a new year filled with brighter days, fewer hospital visits, and a whole lot more joy. Cheers to resilience, healing, and the hopeful possibilities of what’s ahead!

Each year I try to work into my daily life a word, and this year it’s HAPPY.
Happy to laugh, happy to quilt, happy to have health and just happy to just be. Join me in Happiness. And the best happiness? A Quilt Ladies quilt block !

What is a use it Quilt?

Use the Quilt or Not?

I had a questions, “What is a use it Quilt?” I mentioned this the other day and I’ve never talked about this before. My guide of which quilt to use?

I kind of grade my quilts, this yellow quilt was a gift, and this is the back of it! I made it to sleep under, use it, love it, wash and dry it.

This is quilt below is my use it quilt, it’s from an auction about 35 years ago, it’s still lovely. It’s all the hand quilting, the batting has held up very well. Right now it’s folded on a chair in our living room and I use it all the time.

These are the next step up quilts at my house, the hand quilted items I use around my house. I love table toppers and have them all around. Most are machine pieced and I have hand quilted them. But they are not washed daily and they are very much in original quality.

Then…used BUT only my me ~ “I” use it! and why? I don’t think my Great, Great Grandmother would want it in a closet, not loved and not used. PLUS, I cannot tell you the joy it gives me.

Here, I think it’s the color and the movement this quilt block has that all like. It’s finished size is eighteen inches by eighteen inches, using cut 2 1/2″ squares. This quilt block is one of 53 in my book.

This is Husband’s quilt, the fold up and add to his sleeping bag quilt. The quilt block pattern is here for you.

Blue and White Quilt Block and Lots of Fun

Classic Blue and White Fabric Used

Nothing says happiness to me as much as a Quilt Block Pattern. This is a pieced quilt block with a finished size of eight inches by eight inches.

This quilt block, a patchwork star design. It consists of alternating patterns in shades of blue and white. The center comprises small squares arranged in a checkerboard pattern, surrounded by a larger star shape. The star’s points are made from triangular pieces with detailed patterns, adding texture and depth to the design.

For some reason this quilt block looks complicated and it’s not, maybe the simple quilt pieces or the 8″ x 8″ finished size?

My December 2024 Quilt Pattern features a repeating geometric star pattern. The stars contain a darker blue center and radiate outwards with gold and yellow tones. These stars are arranged in a grid of four rows and three columns, all separated by a bold red background. The outer border is decorated with a red and white geometric design, with blue accents in the corners.
