Move it Over Monday from The Quilt Ladies
After learning to make a square, the next step is the triangle. Just like the square if you are not ready to purchase a rotary cutter and mat. You will need to make a freezer paper pattern. How I do my Square’s

Take the FINISHED size of the square you want and add 7/8 of an inch.
example:
for a finished size 2 inch square you will cut your fabric 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″
for a finished size 3 inch square you will cut your fabric 3 7/8″ x 3 7/8″
for a finished size 4 inch square you will cut your fabric 4 7/8″ x 4 7/8″
And so on, either make you freezer paper pattern or up with a rotary cutter and ruler.
I’ve used a 3 inch FINISHED Square cut 3 7/8″ x 3 7/8″A light and a dark.
You have 2 triangles

My Story and that of The Quilt Ladies
About ME ! My name is Beth Ann, I am sixty- one years young and living in central Florida, about 20 minutes for the white sandy beaches we all love and right on a golf course, that I have never played on, but it’s pretty. I was born and raised in Iowa and have lived in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and now in Florida, which I still can’t believe.
I have Husband, two boys, two daughter-n-laws and four Grands, whom all live an airplane ride away. We travel to them, a couple of times a year and I’ve made myself learn and USE text. I was home with the boys for years, working part-time at a library, the home office of a jewelry chain and then at banks, Husband’s career took up to 10 different retail stores and there was always a bank.
We live in a condo with all the things you think you will have when you move to Florida. I always explain to people moving to Florida is like going to college, no one is from here, and everyone has a story and just because people are retired doesn’t change their personalities to the good or bad. Once not nice, retiring will not make you nice. That’s parts of my, How to Survive Retirement Book
Over twenty years ago, I self-published by books, The Quilt Ladies Collection, each book on its own and sold at quilt shows. I added titles and quilts as I went. From all printed at home, to getting them printed in color by a printer to now all twelve titles available on Kindle and Nook, in one book. What a circle of events and how technology has changed everything. My printers cost 2007 was 5.95 for one book, sold for 8.95 and I now I sell all twelve for 9.99. It’s so crazy now it’s all changed. You see my tag line always and thank you for purchasing and supporting me through my book, The Quilt Ladies ONLY on Kindle and NOOK
After I had the books done I was teaching and needed quilt patterns of my own to teach with. Little Quilt Ladies Quilt Patterns were launched. I have since changed the name to The Quilt Ladies Quilt Pattern Shop, just easier for me. The Quilt Ladies Quilt Pattern Shop HERE for YOU
So, here I am, living in Florida, (I say again!) which I still can’t believe. Taking care of my Mom, Husband’s parents are here too and doing what I like and need to do daily. From this site here, www.bethanndoing.com and Facebook posts, to quilting, drawing, taking pictures, decorating and everything in between.
In a nut shell that’s me, Beth Ann, One Happy (Quilt) Lady !
Enjoy a Simple Life, a time to be, curl up and just read it’s my Entire Quilt Ladies Book Collection in one place.. ALL twelve books and fifteen quilt patterns. Read the stories and make the quilts The Quilt Ladies are making. Loads of quilt patterns, pictures and very detailed quilt instructions. If you are a reader, quilter or both, I know you enjoy my Quilt Ladies.

My Book, “How to Survive Retirement”
The reason for this book, Husband and I retired early, he was 57 and I was 55. We planned, saved and made it happen. Most people hear us say our ages and they ask, “What do you do all day?” VERY, very rarely to they ask, “How do you afford it?” We are just over five years into our dream and we are having a ball. Here in my book is what we learned, some practical, some fun and some things you just need to know.
A Quilt Ladies Book Pattern
My Star Triangle quilt block is all about the triangle. I like to think of it as triangle practice, let the sewing begin.

It was one of the hardest things to do a few years ago to change myself up and start doing…what I like, love and need to do. www.bethanndoing.com was born. The Quilt Ladies are my heart and the quilt patterns will never go away, my Ladies seem to bring me peace, when nothing else can. I’m six years into photography and it’s opened my eyes up to see things a different way. I have taken classes, field trip, shot photos with others, but now it’s all about me ! See what I am doing, I maybe come a brand….it’s only taken me….eighteen years ! ! To figure myself, my work, my life and my art all out. NEVER say NEVER !
