This a quilt block made up of friendship stars. To match the flag a bit, make the white background blue and the stars white.

I made this quilt block with very simple colors and background, but you can have lots of fun with it. Remember to press NOT IRON a quilt block and I always press as I go each seam. I have a small ironing board right by my sewing machine. I posted how I do quilt triangles for you at my other site, TheQuiltLadies.com

This quilt block is one of my quilt blocks from Book Eleven of The Quilt Ladies. The quilt in the book has three different quilt blocks in ONE quilt.

Finished quilt block will be ten inches by ten inches
Cut 1 Purple – 8”X 8” Squares
Cut 1 Purple Flower – 8”X 8” Squares
You will have one set left over
Cut 1 White – 6 7/8” X 6 7/8” Cut from corner to corner Basket center – using only one
Cut 3 White – 2 7/8” X 2 7/8”
Cut 3 Purple – 2 7/8” X 2 7/8”
Make triangles How I do Triangles
Cut 1 Green – 2 7/8” X 2 7/8” cut corner to corner
Cut 1 White – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Piece together as shown
Piece 3 triangles together, sew
Sew 3 triangles and corner, sew
Sew Green triangles to cormers
Sew basket bottom to top

Make 16 – Four patch square blocks
Cut 4 Lt. Blue – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
