Center of the Block
Cut 8 Assorted Colors – 1 ½” x 2 ½”
Piece as shown

White Edge
Cut 1 White – 1 ½” x 4 ½” sew to the top
Cut 2 White – 1 ½” x 5 ½” sew to the right side and bottom
Cut 1 White – 1 ½” x 6 ½” sew to the left side

Green Edge
Cut 1 Green – 1 ½” x 6 ½” sew to the top
Cut 2 Green – 1 ½” x 7 ½” sew to the right side and bottom
Cut 1 Green – 1 ½” x 8 ½” sew to the left side

Outside Edge
Cut 8 Assorted Colors – 1 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 4 Assorted Colors 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Make Triangles

I call this a BREAK it DOWN quilt pattern block. It looks complicated but doing it in sections is the key.

Make Triangle

Cut 2 Pink – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 2 White – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Make center 4 -patch

This is a fun Log Cabin Quilt Pattern Block and it’s one to use up any scraps you have around. The pieces are straight lined pieced and has a finished size of ten inches by ten inches.

COLOR cutting is from the photo on the left side.

Cut 1 Dk. Gray 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 2 Lt. Gray 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Make Center

Cut 2 Blue – 1 ½” x 6 ½”

Sew to the top and bottom

Cut 2 Lt Blue – 1 ½” x 6 ½”

Sew to the top and bottom

Cut 2 Purple – 2 ½” X 6 ½”

Sew to the sides

Cut 2 Lt. Gray – 2 ½” x 10 ½”

This is one of my use it up log cabin quilt blocks, it’s ten inches by ten inches and I love that it’s both 1 1/2″ strips and 2 1/2″ strips.
