This quilt was designed around a friendship star quilt pattern, I changed it up for Grand #1’s, baby quilt. In my quilt pattern book it’s 12 quilt blocks, with a finished size of 12″ x 12″ The finished quilt will be 54″ x 76″
Cut 2 Green 4 7/8” x 4 7/8” Cut Square corner to corner
Cut 1 Bright Green 5 ¼” x 5 ¼”
Cut 1 Bright Blue 5 ¼” x 5 ¼” Piece units together
Cut 1 Red Center – 4 ½” x 4 ½”
Cut 2 Gray 4 7/8” x 4 7/8” Cut Square corner to corner
Cut 4 White 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” Cut Square corner to corner
I know I’m tired when I start the morning with corn chips and a VERY large cup of coffee. I’ve been dipping the chips in the coffee too, I think it’s all the cream that just happen to make it’s way into my cup….Don’t tell. Here a favorite quilt block pattern of mine.
You have to LOVE a Quilt pattern named, “English Rose” what says quilting more than as English Rose. The finished size this quilt block pattern is ten inches by ten inches.
Took a few days off and had a fantastic week on the beach ! I’m starting back today with a simple but little quilt block today, this quilt pattern has a finished size of six inches by six inches.
Please notice the strange cutting, it’s a 4 patch quilt block in a 6 inch size quilt block.

This is one of the quilt blocks you cut out the pieces and move the squares around. The placement of color can change the look of this block.

Let’s change things a bit, today this little quilt block pattern has a finished size of two inches by two inches.
I use a 1/4″ seam allowance, sew the seam and then trim down to about an 1/8″ seam allowance and press, just as you would with a larger quilt block. SEE all my quilt patterns HERE See all my Books and Quilt Books on Amazon too
1 Dark 1 7/8” X 1 7/8” 1 White 1 7/8” X 1 7/8” Make largest triangles
2 Medium 1 3/8″ X 1 3/8″ 2 White 1 3/8″ X 1 3/8″ Make smaller triangle

Cut 20 Assorted Colors – 1 ½” x 2 ½” Cut 16 White – 1 ½” x 2 ½” Make 4 units as shown
Sew 2, sew one on left and one on right
Cut 4 Pink – 3 ½” x 3 ½” Sew to the unit as shown
Sew to the top and bottom of the block

The other day I told about a Fish Quilt that seemed to make everything just a bit better. Today I’m sharing the quilt pattern with you ! Other day story
This quilt is loved, used, washed and dried. Finished size of ONE quilt block is ten inches by ten inches. My quilt I made of 6 fish quilt blocks, added sashing and binding. It’s long to be used in Husbands sleeping bag and now in a recliner. My How to make Quilt Block Triangles

Sew as Shown
You will need FOUR of this block to make a School of Fish
