Fall is here, ever in Florida. I do kind of miss all the sweaters and getting out my cute boots, but this year let’s do the season with one of my quilt block patterns, Autumn Nights – Finished quilt block size is twelve inches by twelve inches, yes it has a lot of pieces, but it’s not hard to piece. Lay out your colors, if you like, or do it all scrappy. I have used fall colors to make this quilt block pattern, use what you have or like.
Few days ago I started a quilt block, which I named, Star Around a Quilt Block Pattern, it probably has hundreds of names, but this is the one for me. Here is all cutting and Part ONE
From Part ONE to sew 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
white to top and bottom of the star quilt block center.
Take 2 – 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ white, add triangles to the sides
Sew as shown to each side How to make Triangles
Sew 2 Rows – Top and bottom
2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ white, 1 triangle, 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″,
1 triangle, 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ white Sew as shown, add to the top and bottom
Sew 2 Rows – Sides
1 – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ color, 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ white, 1 triangle, 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″,
1 triangle, 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ white, 1 – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ color
Sew as shown, sew to each side
Sew 2 Rows – Top and Bottom
2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ white, 2 triangle, 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″, Sew as shown, add to the top and bottom
Sew 2 Rows – Sides 1 – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ color, white, 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″,
2 – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ color, 1 – 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ white, 1 – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2 color
Sew as shown, sew to each side

There is NOTHING as special, as traditional or as wonderful as a two color pieced basket quilt. This quilt block has a finished size of eight inches by eight inches. Any two colors will work, anything with white will be perfect. How I make my triangles tutorial

A classic quilt block pattern, Friendship Star and always one of the first you learn to make, squares and triangles.
Quilt block is a finished size of six inches by six inches. I make my triangles using this method, many ways to do them. The Quilt Ladies
Friendship Star – 6 inch by 6 inch finished quilt block
Cut 4 – 2 ½” x 2 ½”
Cut 2 Colored – 2 7/8”’ x 2 7/8” Cut 2 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
This is one of my quilt block patterns and I named it,
Pin Wheel Around. I took 2- five inch Charm packs and made all the blocks I am sharing. I don’t over think quit fabric colors much…a light, a dark color. Valentine Table Topper – This quilt is made using 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ cut quilt blocks. My table topper quilt was machine pieced and I hand quilted with straight lines. The finished quilt table topper will measure 24″ x 18″
A simple square is always a good thing in quilting. I cut 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ square.
Piecing 7 quilt squares across and 10 down, you will need a total of 70 – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ red quilt squares
Cut 2 Red – 20 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Sew to the long sides
Cut 2 Red – 14 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Cut 4 Corner – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Sew to the 14 1/2″ Strip
Sew to the Top and BottomCut Binding 2 1/2″ x 86″
This is one of those quilt blocks that just says…Wonderful. it’s all triangles And it’s doable with scraps or as shown, colors placed. The finished quilt block is eight inches by eight inches. I machine pieced and do the quilt pattern in units and rows as shown below.
