This is a quilt block pattern I drafted for a quilt for Grand #1 for his birthday…years ago !
It’s a quilt block I call an add on, the center is a nine-patch, add strips, add corner triangles. Here is my triangle tutorial if you need.
PLEASE, notice the cutting sizes, this quilt has a finished size of 10.5 x 10.5.

Finished size of all the quilt blocks over the next year will be 12″ x 12″. Each quilt block will have the CENTER block in some form. YOU do YOU with color, use what you have or off to a quilt shop ! Don’t over think it, it’s a quilt block !

Cut 40 RED – 1 ½ x 2 ½” Piece as shown for the center
Make 5 quilt blocks

You will need to use the first 3 day to make the star quilt block as shown above. AND you will need to made it FOUR times.

Cut 1 Center Yellow – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ Cut 4 Yellow – 1 7/8″ x 1 7/8″ Cut 4 White – 1 7/8″‘ x 1 7/8″ Make Triangles
Cut 4 White – 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ for the Corners
Sew as Shown
This Quilt Star will have a finished size of 4 1/2″ x 4 1/2″
