Cut 4 Soft Gray
3 7/8” x 3 7/8”

Cut 4 White – 3 7/8” x 3 7/8”

Make Triangles

Cut 4 Soft Gray
3 ½” x 3½”

Cut 1 Blue – 6 ½” x 6 ½”

Sew as shown

Traditional Basket Quilt Block

From The Quilt Ladies

Today, I’m share a traditional basket quilt block, it’s easy to piece and just wait to see what can be done with it over the next few days. The quilt block has a finished size of eight inches by eight inches.

Cut 1 Color 6 7/8” x 6 7/8” square cut corner to corner

Cut 1 White 6 7/8” x 6 7/8” square cut corner to corner

Reserve extra triangle of another block

Cut 1 White 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” make triangles

Cut 1 Color 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” make triangles

Cut 1 White 2 1/2” x 2 1/2”

Cut 2 White 4 1/2 x 2 1/2”

Sew as Shown

Color Fun with these Two Quilt Blocks

Here are two of my quilt pattern from The Quilt Ladies Site.Both quilt patterns are fun and here for the making. Quilt Patterns have a finished size of eight inches by eight inches.

Cut 2 White 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 1 Burgundy 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Make Triangles

Cut 1 Yellow 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 1 Red 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Make Triangles

Cut 1 White 4 7/8” x 4 7/8” triangles

Cut from corner to corner

Cut 1 Blue 3 7/8” x 3 7/8” triangles

Cut 1 Green 4 1/2” x 4 1/2”

Cut 1 White 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut this triangle corner to corner and sew to green base

Sew As Shown

This is block one and you should have 8 of them

Block Two

Cut 8 – Scrap Colors – 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″

Cut 8 Burgundy – 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″

Cut 8 Burgundy – 2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″

Sew together 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″

and 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″

make a floating square quilt pattern,#quilting, #quiltpattern, #thequiltladies

Press to Burgundy

Add 2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″

Sew

Floating Squares Quilt Pattern JUST for YOU !

Lap Throw or Baby Quilt Size

Floating Squares quilt pattern throw – 34″ x 34″ Over the next few days I will be share this pattern, Floating Squares a quilt pattern, stop back in every couple of days

Block ONE – You will make 8 of this block

Tutorial to make a floating squares quilt, #quilting, #quiltpattern, #thequiltladies

The Quilt Ladies Floating Squares Quilt

Cutting for 8 Blocks

Cut 32 Scrap Colors – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

Cut 16 Burgundy – 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

Cut 8 Burgundy – 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″

Floating Squares Quilt Pattern, #quilting, #quiltpattern, #thequiltladies

Sew 1 Burgundy – 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

on 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

Use 1/4″ Seam Allowance

Press to Burgundy

Add another 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ to side, sew

and again Press to Burgundy

Do 2 of this unit for each block

Add 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Sew and

Press to Burgundy

Sew second unit to bottom and press to Burgundy

You will have 8 of these blocks

We took a fantastic vacation, returned home, laundry, sleep and re-entry to the real world.

I had visions of posts and ideas…..BUT mother nature had another thought ! Our condo building was hit by lighting, after we returned (Florida’s the lighting capital) it hit our cable, internet lines and blow my PC Computer, printer and TV cable boxes.

Off to the repair guy…. not repairable, off to get my laptop and thank goodness all was able to be moved to it…. I had a lot backed up on USB, but of course not everything…. I hope to get back into a schedule here again, the hard part is finding everything…But, that will come too ???? in the mean time !

Let’s start the 4th of July holiday week with one of my quilt pattern blocks. This is my State of Wisconsin quilt pattern for you !
