This pattern is “Medallion Square” and it’s a fun quilt block. Pull out scraps and have FUN ! This is from my book at The Quilt Ladies Shop !
I cut squares and just pieced. If you want it to be as pictured, get out your colored pencils and take a few moments and decide the placement of all the colors. The center white space can be any color or maybe a signature block. Have fun !
I love this quilt pattern it’s so simple and just a bit quirky. The square on the bottom turns into the base of the quilt block. The finished size of this quilt block is six inches by six inches.
I’m sure in the quilt of quilt patterns, this quilt block has a name, but mine for it is Triangle Pin Wheel. Somethings it’s just easier to go it on my own. Finished quilt block will measure – six inches by six inches. Sew triangles, sew into rows and then rows into the quilt block. This is how I make triangles – HERE
Here is one of my quilt pattern blocks it’s from my book 53 Quilt Pattern Blocks – HERE and in my Classic Quilt Pattern Bundle – HERE The finished size of this quilt block is Eight inches by Eight inches.
I think with age I remember things better. Grand 1 is now almost 17 years old and seeing this quilt block takes me right back to the days of making it. This is a pattern I drafted for a quilt for Grand #1 for his birthday. It may have an “Official Name” but to me it’s Grand #1’s Quilt block.
This quilt pattern is named Autumn Trails, but to me it’s a triangle quilt pattern. You will need a lighter color background to keep the pattern in the quilt block. Autumn Trails – Finished size six inches by six inches.
