Star Quilt Pattern for you to Make

If you would like to do your star quilt block as shown above

Cut 4 Red – 8 7/8″ x 8 7/8″
Cut 4 White – 8 7/8″ x 8 7/8″
Make Triangles
Cut 4 White – 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″

Sew as Shown to star quilt block

Cut 4 Blue – 32 1/2″ x 32 1/2″

Sew one to right side and left side

Cut 4 Assorted colors – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2

Cut 16 Assorted Colors – 1 7/8″ x 1 7/8″
Cut 16 White – 1 7/8″ x 1 7/8″
Make Triangles – Make Corner stars

Sew stars to ends of blue strips and sew blue strips to Top and Bottom

Make Star Quilt Block into a Quilt

Over the past few days we have made a table topper using this my Star Holiday Quilt Pattern Block. Today I have be showing you to make this quilt block into a quilt.
Finished size of 40″ x 40″

You will need to use the first 3 day to make the star quilt block as shown above. AND you will need to made it FOUR times.

You will need FOUR (4) of this corner quilt block,
cutting given for one. 

Cut 1 Center Yellow – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Cut 4 Yellow – 1 7/8″ x 1 7/8″
Cut 4 White – 1 7/8″‘ x 1 7/8″
Make Triangles

Cut 4 White – 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ for the Corners
Sew as Shown

Cut 4 Blue – 4 1/2″ X 32 1/2″
Sew as Shown
2 to the sides, add 4″ square to 2 ends,
sew to the top and bottom

Cut binding 2 1/2″ x 165″ Sew on. Finished quilt is 40″ x 40″, perfect lap or baby quilt size.

Part TWO, Let’s Make a Quilt Block

Few days ago I started a quilt block, which I named, Star Around a Quilt Block Pattern, it probably has hundreds of names, but this is the one for me. Here is all cutting and Part ONE

Star Around a Quilt Block Pattern
Part ONE 

From Part ONE to sew 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
white to top and bottom of the star quilt block center.

Take 2 – 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ white, add triangles to the sides
Sew as shown to each side How to make Triangles

Star Around a Quilt Block Pattern

Sew 2 Rows – Top and bottom
2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ white, 1 triangle, 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″,
1 triangle, 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ white
Sew as shown, add to the top and bottom

Sew 2 Rows – Sides
1 – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ color, 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ white, 1 triangle, 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″,
1 triangle, 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ white, 1 – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ color
Sew as shown, sew to each side

Cut 5 – Blue – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Cut 5 – Red – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Cut 5 – Gray – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Cut 5 – Lt. Gray – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

Cut 12 Purple – 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″
Cut 12 White – 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″

There is NOTHING as special, as traditional or as wonderful as a two color pieced basket quilt. This quilt block has a finished size of eight inches by eight inches. Any two colors will work, anything with white will be perfect.  How I make my triangles tutorial

I have files of quilt blocks and I am going to start sharing them with you, this is one of the first quilt block we all made, a Star Quilt Block.

This quilt block has a finished size of eight inches by eight inches. Here is how I do triangle piecing and it’s also the way I will be present the quilt block cutting instructions, you have another way…you do you!
