Allow me to introduce you to my Quilt, B. Annie. This quilt as you see it is all about ME. It’s color, pattern, all stitched together in perfect harmony.
The inspiration came from the traditional quilt pattern known as bear paw. Something about those paws caught my imagination, and I just had to reinterpret them in a splashier, more playful way.
So there you have it! “Bear Paw Petals Quilt” is more than just a quilt—it’s a celebration of colors, patterns, and the joy of creation. The Quilt Ladies Wedding Quilt is made up of Twelve, 12” x 12” quilt blocks, each quilt block has stems and applique leaves in each corner. The outside border continues the pieced leaves, applique stems and leaves. Each quilt block is bordered so that quilting can to added with loads of space. This quilt has a finished size of 93” x 78”

I pretty much dream quilt blocks…I love moving around pieces and changing each quilt block with small pattern changes or fabric colors. These quilt blocks came about from my small quilt groups challenge of taking the same quilt center and we each do a quilt block and see what we come up with. I designed twenty-eight quilt blocks…and made the ones here… I pretty much turned the group sideways, as they weren’t that receptive… You know a quilt group, follow the rules, didn’t hear any rules…but that’s OK, here they are for YOU ! The Ladies Quilt Pattern started early on in my quilt designing. I love sampler quilts, I draw and draw quilt blocks. Some are the classic ones and some are the ones I designed and like.
When I was designing and planning this quilt, I was home day after day. I would spend entire days piecing quilt blocks. Kind of my heaven and there are 68 quilt blocks in this quilt book/pattern. Husband worked twelve-hour days, six days a week. And I seemed to be able to be content and happy in my world of quilt blocks. The thing that took The Ladies to the next level was the trip to the fabric shop. I was always hoping to own a shop,(dream) any way, I knew the blue fabric was right when I saw it. Purchasing fabric is kind of a sport to me and I do it ALL the time. Knowing the blue was going to be the base and pop color of the quilt I purchased about 5 yards. Way more than would be needed. But…more is more. The additional colors, pink, green and the blue pattern were from my scrap closet that I had on hand. With this quilt I figured out each blocks colors as I pieced it, but not each quilt block as it would be put together into the quilt. And/or what quilt block would be placed next to each other. Over the next few days, I will be sharing a fun quilt block pattern with you. This quilt block has a finished size of twenty inches by twenty inches. Let’s get started with the Center Star
Cutting for ONE entire Quilt Block YOU will need only 20 squares Cut 20 Assorted Colors – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ OR as shown here
Cut 5 – Blue – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Cut 5 – Red – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Cut 5 – Gray – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Cut 5 – Lt. Gray – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Cut 12 Purple – 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″
Cut 12 White – 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″
Make Triangles – How I make Triangles
Cut 4 White – 2 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
Cut 8 White 2 1/2″ x 6 1/2″
Cut 4 White – 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″
Cut 4 White – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Sew 4 squares to make 4-Patch – How I do Squares
Sew 2 triangles together – 2 times
Sew to the top and bottom of 4-Patch
Sew 2 triangles together – 2 times
Sew a square to each end and Sew to sides of the Quilt Block

This is the Quilt I saw at the Edison Museum in Ft Myers, Florida. I asked if they had the quilt pattern at the gift shop….NO. Returning home I had to. It’s now my, Edison Tree Quilt Pattern
I am going a bit slow this month! It’s the 4th and….way to many projects going. In Florida and you want to do some furniture painting in the garage, there has to be NO humidity, no humidity and I am painting cabinets for a new pantry!
