I draw quilt patterns all the time and what I like is to take a traditional pattern and change it up. How I do My Triangles

The Traditional quilt pattern block

Cut 4 Green – Cut 4 White – 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″ Make Triangles

Cut 4 Green – Cut 4 White – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ Sew as Shown for eight by eight inch quilt block.

OR….do THIS ! ! – It’s a bit the same, but then again, a bit different, which is how I see things. Pattern is here for you !

Cut 4 Red and 4 Blue – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” triangles Make Triangles

Cut 2 White and Cut 2 Red – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” triangles Make Triangles

Cut 8 Red and Cut 8 White 1 1/2” x 1 1/2” Make 4 Four-patch quilt blocks

A Little Quilt Block for you to make. I know, I know every see’s a little quilt block and can’t think for making it. It’s easy, do the same as a larger quilt block, go slow and you can do it.

It’s a Churn-Dash outside and a four-patch center.
Finished Block Size 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

Cutting for one block

Cut 2 Dark Green – 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″

Cut 2 Background – 1 3/4″ x 1 3/4″

Make Triangles

Cut 2 Burgundy – 1″ x 1 “

Cut 2 Background – 1″ x 1″

Make 4-Patch

Cut 4 Dark Green – 1 1/2″ x 1″

Cut 2 Background – 1 1/2 x 3/4″

Sew into rows and rows into block, trim seam allowance to 1/16″

Mine is machine pieced and hand quilted

Today is my birthday, 63 and getting better and better ! So, today I am sharing one of my favorite quilt block patterns. This quilt block has a finished size of 16″ x 16″, it uses triangles and squares, put together in units as you sew.

Cut 7 Purple – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 7 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Make Triangles

Cut 1 Purple – 6 7/8” x 6 7/8” cut block in half from corner to corner

Cut 6 White – 2 1/2” x 2 1/2”

Cut 3 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” cut block in half from corner to corner

Cutting for 2 Pink Squares

Changing Up a Star Quilt Pattern

New and more NEW ! I have been getting things together again, changing and taking really good care of myself. This star is from my quilt pattern drawer and I hope you like it !
A Star quilt block pattern with a lot of pieces and it’s really easy to make, just break it down as shown. The Star quilt block pattern has a finished size of eight inches by eight inches.

Make the quilt star points a bright color, they can get lost of you do scrap as I did.

Cut these in half to make triangles
