Black Quilt for a New Look

I love changing things around, stopping at the linen closet is one of my joys. I have a bad day…I just stand looking into it…maybe pull one out and it’s day done, all better ! I machine pieced this quilt and had it long arm quilted. I think it was one of the boys??? All new to me !

I used scraps for the back and just had fun.

Used no pattern just pieced and let it happen.

I purchased these fabric’s sometime back

I have Husband old recliner in our

bedroom and I am using a quilt as a pillow. The chairs is really to big for me, but the leather is perfect !

I do this all the time, I draw a pattern

and started piecing pillow tops, it’s not brain surgery, it’s math.

My First Quilts

These are the two quilts which started my quilting journey. I talked the other day about pulling quilts out and these two never really get put away.

I received the one on the right , Great-great Grandmothers and the first quilt I made on the left. All washed and ready for cooler weather…

and in Florida…..it will be a bit, thank goodness !

I had fun with color on my block, but looking now, I would have made the corner green darker, but hindsight…

Pink Quilt in My Office

Decorating with Quilts

I pull out quilts all the time, I have had to stop painting so much, meanly with my knee replacement, but also, it’s exhausting for me now. Fingers crossed that comes back, our guest bath is calling, “Paint me.” So now it’s a different quilt to make things look new.

Here’s the quilt that is on the back of my Chair at my computer now

I took a border class I think when we lived in Windom, MN, YEARS ago, 30+

It measures about 14″ x 20″ perfect chair back size.

Each block is 5″ x 5″

Machine Pieced and I hand quilted, I would quilt it more now, but that’s just me, can’t leave anything alone.

Make a Simple Ironing Board

I saw this ironing table on Pinterest, my Pinterest page if you’d like to follow me HERE It was very easy !

I purchased a 9.00 wooden TV tray

Took batting, the kind that is used for hot pads, I used 2 layers and an old bath towel folded in half, but you could use just about anything for your top.

The tray was VERY hard and Husband helped me stable it all around the outside edge. I have changed the towel a few times and even tried a silver press cloth, all I know, I press more and blocks look better !
