I thought about the placement of color with this pattern, but you can just do four-patches and let the color fall where it may!

Making it Better with a Fish Quilt Block

One Fish to a School of Fish

Last week I told about a Fish Quilt that seemed to make everything just a bit better. Today I’m sharing the quilt pattern with you ! Last weeks story HERE

This quilt is loved, used, washed and dried. Finished size of ONE quilt block is ten inches by ten inches. My quilt I made 6 quilt blocks, added sashing and binding. It long to be used in a reclining chair.

Cut 1 White – 4 1/2″ x 10 1/2″

This is the seating at Grand #3’s soccer game from the  fall.
It’s his Daddy’s VERY old quilt. I think it is about 18-20 years old… I machine pieced and  had it long arm quilted. The pattern is drafted for you here too ! !

Taking a traditional quilt block and changing it into a very modern quilt block, finished size it eight inches by eight inches. My first traditional basket quilt block is here for you if you missed it. 

Cut 3 Lt. Blue 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” triangles

Cut 3 White     2 7/8” x 2 7/8” make triangles

 Cut 2 White     2 1/2” x 2 1/2”

Cut 3 Yellow   1 1/2” x 1 1/2”

Cut 5 Dk. Blue 1 1/2” x 1 1/2”

Cut 2 Gray      1 1/2” x 1 1/2”

Cut 2 Gray      2 1/2” X 1 1/2”

The last basket quilt block was very straight forward and simple. I took another look at it and here is what I did to it !  Finished size is still eight inches by eight inches.

Today, I’m share a traditional basket quilt block, it’s easy to piece and just wait to see what can be done with it over the next few days.  The quilt block has a finished size of eight inches by eight inches.

Cut 1 White     6 7/8” x 6 7/8” square cut corner to corner

Reserve extra triangle of another block

Cut 1 White     2 7/8” x 2 7/8” make triangles

Cut 1 Color     2 7/8” x 2 7/8” make triangles

Cut 1 White     2 1/2” x 2 1/2”

Cut 2 White     4 1/2 x 2 1/2”
