All I want is a Star Holiday Quilt Block

Holiday Gift for a Quilter

Happy Star Holiday Quilt Block. Today is Day Seven and it’s all about the extras. The extra piecing in the center and extra piecing in the the corners.
It may look complicated, but it’s done step by step and pieced as before row by row. Finished size of the quilt block is eight inches by eight inches (8″x8″) If you missed any here are Star Holiday Quilt Blocks

Quilter Tip:
As you lay out quilt blocks, take a digital photo and see what it will look like before sewing the blocks together. The picture takes you away from the quilt and you see prospective in your quilt block.

Deck the Halls with Star Holiday Quilt Blocks

Star Holiday Quilt Blocks

Today is Day 5 of Star Holiday Quilt Blocks. All the quilt blocks are at this LINK As each quilt block is posted it will be there for you to use.

I wash, dry and iron all my fabric before I start any project. I wash after I purchase, so my stash of fabric is always ready to go. I learned this the hard way… as most quilters do. I did a book quilt, for The Quilt Ladies, spilled on it and washed it in the washing machine, cold water, bit of detergent. It bleed all over the white in the fabric and NOTHING I did made it better…it seemed to make it worse. Lesson learned and I remade the quilt, with washed, dried and ironed fabric.
Finished quilt block will be 8″ x 8″

Walking in a World of Quilt Blocks

Star quilts are a great way to step up your quilting. Always start your quilting journey doing squares. Next learn to do triangles.
How I do my triangles is here for you.

Always when quilting use a 1/4″ seam allowance. I use a soft gray thread in my sewing machine,(top and bobbin) it seems to work the best and only change when using black fabric, black thread.

Time to Make a Quilt !

From The Quilt Ladies

Here is a Complete free quilt pattern for you. I think it’s a fun quilt because of the colors and the black making it pop. Over the next few days you will beTutorial Orange and Blue Star Quilt Pattern able to make the quilt as shown below.  This quilt LOOKS hard BUT it’s just triangles. This quilt is a bit faded, it was hanging on our front down and that’s what the sun can do. I us it now on the dining room table.

I cut 3 7/8″ blocks to make my triangles, you can cut any size you would like. I made and quilted this quilt YEARS ago and I have used it as a table topper, a front door quilt and as a lay over the back of the couch quilt for color.  My quilt has a finished size of 30 inches by 30 inches.  See My NEW MONTHLY QUILT PATTERNS
