Our 2nd Grand is Crazy Man and this is the quilt I made for him.
“Crazy Man” Quilt Pattern – Finishes quilt block is eight inches by eight inches. The “Crazy” part of this quilt is the background fabric, it’s bold, it’s yellow and it’s what makes the blocks a “Crazy Man” quilt.

The last basket quilt block was very straight forward and simple. I took another look at it and here is what I did to it ! Finished size is still eight inches by eight inches.
Cut 3 Pink 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”make triangles
Cut 3 White 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” make triangles
Cut 2 White 2 1/2” x 2 1/2”
Cut 1 Red 3 7/8” x 3 7/8” triangles
Cut 1 White 3 7/8” x 3 7/8” triangles
Cut 1 Pink 2 1/2” x 2 1/2”
Cut 1 Yellow 1 1/2” x 1 1/2”
Cut 2 White 2 1/2” x 1 1/2”
Cut 9 Asst Colors 1 1/2” x 1 1/2”

Today, I’m share a traditional basket quilt block, it’s easy to piece and just wait to see what can be done with it over the next few days. The quilt block has a finished size of eight inches by eight inches.
Cut 1 Color 6 7/8” x 6 7/8” square cut corner to corner
Cut 1 White 6 7/8” x 6 7/8” square cut corner to corner
Reserve extra triangle of another block
Cut 1 White 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” make triangles
Cut 1 Color 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” make triangles
Cut 1 White 2 1/2” x 2 1/2”
Cut 2 White 4 1/2 x 2 1/2”

Cut this triangle corner to corner and sew to green base

Floating Squares Quilt Pattern, finished size is 34″ x 34″ making it the perfect size for a lap quilt or the perfect baby quilt ! If you missed Part ONE and Part TWO
We are now ready to put this quilt pattern together,
Lay the squares out, block one then block two
Play with them and when YOU like the placement…..
Cut 12 Burgundy – 2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
Sew between the blocks
Press the burgundy to the center each time.
2 rows pieced
Cut 3 Burgundy – 2 1/2″ x 26 1/2″
Sew in between each row
Cut 2 Burgundy – 4 1/2″ x 26 1/2″
Sew to the top and bottom
Cut 2 Burgundy – 4 1/2″ x 34 1/2″
Sew to the sides
Cut Binding – 2 1/2″ x 150″
