I hate to say, I didn’t know this author, but do now ! I pick it my the reviews and the cover, bought the book for the cover ! Ellen in a professional hypnotherapist and you met her clients and understand her career. But, her own love life is in need of a bit of work. She meets Patrick, and the story really begins, Patrick has a stalker. A different kind, if there such a thing. The story held me and hearing the voice of the stalker made the book very interesting. Make center 4 -patch
Cut 2 Blue – 4 ½” x 1 ½”
Sew to the top and bottom
Cut 2 Yellow – 6 ½” x 1 ½”
Sew to the sides
Cut 7 Pink – 2 ½” x 1 ½”
Cut 7 Gray – 2 ½” x 1 ½”
Sew as shown, top and bottom
Add sides

After last week, I had the thought of what really makes me happy on a daily bases, besides my STUFF…. Yes, Husband, the kids, friends, all make me happy. But, those little jewels that just appear that make you smile or content in your own life.
Walking in the morning and Husband almost always says, “We are at our Florida church.” The holiness of our bodies moving, the blue sky, the sounds of life starting from the birds to the cars of neighbors and the moments we thank God for another day.
Next my bed, I have a love for a good bed. It’s the sheets, mattress pad, pillows and quilt. Yes, a bit about stuff. Crawling into a clean bed, it’s a simple pleasure to me. The feel of a quilt between my fingers, the softness of it, the warmth and I don’t care how hot it is, I always start with one, it makes it home.
I have always remembered and celebrate days gone by, my calendar on my phone is full of what happened on what day in our lives. I have stepped this up a bit, as I see it, why shouldn’t every day be a wonderful day, and if not, why not a wonderful memory of that day. I hope I can focus my days in the wonder of time and if it has to be memories of the past, so be it.

Think about it, IF you only could live with all your worldly possessions in three drawers and a closet. What would be the things you would take with you? Or the other question is. What would someone else take for you? Say a daughter or son?
Here is just ONE space I love, a bit of my life, my stuff. This is one small corner of my life. I love my stuff, nothing clean and modern about me.
Since, moving Mom into a skilled nursing home, it’s one of those things I think about all the time. The lack of the need to things, the idea of all my things not meaning anything to me anymore. For her, I did all the moving and cleaning out. I learned the things that were important to me for her to have, had NO meaning to her. That was hardest, the bed quilt, the lap quilt I made. No feelings just, “I don’t want that.” So, I re-made the bed with all their things, I moved quilts in/on and out, so a few photos, hanger clothes, socks, nightgowns/robes, personal hygiene things, some games, her crocheting and three books, went in the drawers and closet. She asked for something the other day I said, “It’s in the drawer Mom.” “Oh, the girls open them I’ve never looked in them.” Did you see my mind blow, since August 2017, you have NEVER opened a drawer.
It’s three drawers and a closet and it’s working. Now the conversation…..what do I want for myself?

I like changing things and doing the different, today is a three by three inch quilt pattern for you, complete quilt pattern is here for you.
When sewing the pieces in a smaller quilt pieces, as this quilt pattern is. I do everything just as IF it was a regular size quilt block. I cut with a rotary cutter, sew on my sewing machine, and press. The ONLY thing different is I trim my 1/4 inch seam allowance for just about 1/8 of an inch and press. REMEMBER, to press with a hot iron, UP and DOWN, you do not want to stretch the cotton.

I started quilting years and years ago, 40+ years. This is my first quilt, I had started with pillow tops. I took a class in Burlington, Iowa. Which was taught by Liz Porter, at the time she was working for Better Homes and Garden, she taught and was speaking on the weekends. This was a bring 2 1/2″ squares, share with all, and do color graduation. a one day class.

We all start someplace, I didn’t know how to do corners or how to do a double binding. We are all new once. I love this quilt, it’s home to me, it’s been packed, moved, taken, machine washed and dried for years. I will not mend or fix anything on it. It’s like me, old but still pretty good.
BUT, what I did know how to do was hand quilt. All those pillows I made. Hearts in each square and straight line on the outside edges.

Happy Mother’s Day to all, Mother’s, Sisters and Girl Friends. We can only do this all together and with each heart we step as one. Today, I am continuing to change up traditional quilt patterns. The quilt pattern block has a finished size of eight inches by eight inches. The Complete quilt pattern book is at My pattern shop
The first quilt pattern is a traditional quilt block, the second is MINE, all dressed up.
There are a lot of way to make half-square triangles, I like the add 7/8″ method, as I find I can piece them to the right size pretty much all the time. Here is my how to for triangles
Cut 1 Blue 4 7/8” x 4 7/8”
Cut 1 Green 4 7/8” x 4 7/8” Make triangles
Cut 1 Blue 3 7/8” x 3 7/8”
Cut 1 Green 3 7/8” x 3 7/8” Make triangles
Cut 2 White 3 1/2” x 1 1/2”
Cut 2 White 4 1/2” x 1 1/2”
Sew As Shown
Cut 1 Green 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Cut 1 White 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” Make triangles
Cut 1 Burgundy 3 7/8” x 3 7/8”
Cut 1 White 3 7/8” x 3 7/8” Make triangles
