Today is National Pins and Needle Day ! What better way to celebrate than with OLD quilts. When we travel I take pictures of quilt too. I “ALWAYS” ask before taking pictures, to date I’ve not had anyone say, “NO” and most say thanks for asking.
These 2 quilts are from a Shop in Chillicothe, MO Notice the red and how it’s the color that has stayed the best over the years
This is a simple basket quilt pattern and set on point, with squares for lots of quilting.

“Old Maids Puzzle” what I like about this pattern is the name of it. And the simple use of triangles. You have seen this quilt block of years, did you know it’s name?? Finished Quilt Block Size 8” x 8”
I pull out quilts all the time, I have had to stop painting so much, meanly with my knee replacement, but also, it’s exhausting for me now. Fingers crossed that comes back, our guest bath is calling, “Paint me.” So now it’s a different quilt to make things look new.
Here’s the quilt that is on the back of my Chair at my computer now
I took a border class I think when we lived in Windom, MN, YEARS ago, 30+
It measures about 14″ x 20″ perfect chair back size.
Each block is 5″ x 5″
Machine Pieced and I hand quilted, I would quilt it more now, but that’s just me, can’t leave anything alone.

I saw this ironing table on Pinterest, my Pinterest page if you’d like to follow me HERE It was very easy !
I purchased a 9.00 wooden TV tray
Took batting, the kind that is used for hot pads, I used 2 layers and an old bath towel folded in half, but you could use just about anything for your top.
The tray was VERY hard and Husband helped me stable it all around the outside edge. I have changed the towel a few times and even tried a silver press cloth, all I know, I press more and blocks look better !
As a quilter we all hear this ALL the time. What I have found out over the years, I enjoy good quilt products. Here I am going to share what I have found or just for the quilter who has EVERYTHING !
I do get a few cents if you click and purchase, and if not, that’s just fine too! A Sewing Table

I hate to say, but, I use this quilt and it’s not finished...
it’s been SO long that is SO flat
I even put the binding on it,
because it fits a table I have and having it on it makes me happy. It measures about 40″ x 40″
It’s machine pieced
and Not hand quilted YET ! Some day??? Maybe??
I’m showing the back, it’s been washed a number of times, I use a 1/4″ seam allowance always, you never know what your quilts will be doing for you.

Coffee is one of things that makes me HAPPY ! And then add an International Day of Coffee and Celebrate ! It’s fantastic!
I did a bit of reading from this site, National Today: Around the 700s AD, a herd of goats started acting strangely, almost as if they were dancing. Their owner, Kaldi, discovered that they were eating a sort of red bean and concluded that was the cause of their behavior. Kaldi decided to share his findings with a monk who required something that could help him to stay awake all night as he prayed; but another story claims that the monk refused and threw the beans into the fire and the pleasing aroma that came from it was just wonderful. HERESo, take a moment, Oh, take an hour and have your favorite cup of coffee and know that everything is going to be right with your day.
I’m going to link somethings here today, I have and use them all. I’ve taken coffee as a bit of a hobby. I read my post back and it turned into a bit of a commercial,
I don’t do these….but it’s COFFEE DAY ! ! AND I know of what I speak! This is for cold brew coffee and I make it for an afternoon treat.
This coffee frother is wonderful, whipped or hot cream, I have used half and half, whole cream, coffee creams, but my favorite it, Almond milk, cinnamon and vanilla, first on the whipped/heated setting and then whip it with no heat. Perfect.
I use both a pot and a pod…A nightly decision for me. Yes, I plan my coffee!
This was a gift last Christmas and I LOVE it!
This is my third Keurig and the one I like the most

I have been working on a hankie shirt. I purchased these hankies a few years ago and I’ve been seeing clothing using them (Pinterest) and I decided to give it a try. This is an old…Old Navy all cotton shirt, which I haven’t worn in a bit. It’s also one of the shirts from our overseas trip last year and I took a carry-on for 18 days and I wore it a LOT !
I haven’t been able to sit at my sewing machine for along time. It’s right there…but I sit down and I just can’t do it. And right now that has to be OK ! So, my shirt is hand stitches and hand quilted (top stitched). I laid it out on the dining room table and didn’t put it away. The idea was see it, do it. It worked !
I used a total of 4 hankies, washed and ironed. I cut and appliqued each down and then hand quilted around the outside edge.
Removed top stitching and cut down center and added hankie, stitched and top stitched.
This is my finished shirt. Only thing I would change is not adding to the side seams, it was not needed. I added a tuck or dart to fix it, or so you can’t see my bra !
And before you ask, You can use a sewing machine ! And, yes I really am that brown, Florida baby ! I wear sunscreen and now a swim shirt, (the one I wear) Sun hat too (the one I wear)
