Time to Plan your Summer Quilt Making

Red Lips from Put on Some Red Lipstick and Let's QuiltSummer Quilt Planning starts with a NEW Quilt Pattern.  After you have the quilt pattern it’s all about the fabric.  I always say, purchase ONLY what you LIKE, what you can afford and ALWAYS 100% cotton. “I” and I repeat, “I” like to wash, dry and iron my fabrics, BEFORE I start cutting them.  This is MY Quilt, “PUT on Some RED Lipstick and Let’s Quilt”

Put on Some Red Lip Stick and Let's Quilt Pattern

When I purchase fabric and have NO idea what I will be making with it, I always purchase 2 to 3 yards.  These red and white’s  are all from my fabric closet and some are getting old, as long as the cotton  is still tight, it’s just fine to work with.

Put on Some Red Lipstick and Let’s Quilt, is an all straight piecing quilt pattern, with all cutting and piecing instructions, this quilt  measures 54” x 74”

Whenever possible I like to chain piece and this is the start of my piecing of squares.

Take a Moment and Stop Over and See my Quilt Ladies Quilt Pattern Shop, on Etsy. Etsy is 100% safe and always open. My quilt patterns are all reasonable priced, so all can afford them.

This is one of the things I have to do and I HATE doing. I….love that you love my quilt blocks, I love that you stop in a couple of times a week and I love that you use, make and are proud of your quilts from my patterns on this site.  BUT, please STOP ! ! ! Copying my work and sharing it as YOUR own !  Most don’t have the talent to remove my water making’s. My quilt patterns here on these sites,  Use them, share them but ALWAYS Link them back to me, www.bethanndoing.com or www.thequiltladies.com

OK, enough of that !  BETH

Log Cabin Quilt Pattern Block for YOU !

This is how the log cabin quilt block started, straight piecing and colors, dark on one side and light of other. Well…in my world these are light and dark colors.  IF you are new to quilting log cabin is the best, straight piecing and very quick results.   Doing a log cabin I like to just strips and just go, but all cutting is here for you. This quilt block is ten inches by ten inches, but if you want it larger just keep adding strips.  Sign up for my newsletter below too !    See my quilt pattern shop

The Ladies Quilt Pattern Book

“The Ladies” Quilt Pattern

The Ladies Quilt Book

68 quilt pattern blocks, with complete cutting and piecing instructions. Make the quilt blocks as shown, a quilt which is 76″ x 84″ or just as a single quilt project reference of quilt blocks.

The Ladies Quilt Pattern“The Ladies” are The Quilt Ladies. This project started as a gift idea and turned into a quilt pattern. The Ladies started by deciding the block size of eight inches by eight inches and the piecing of only straight seams. Drawing out each quilt block on graph paper and all hand written directions, they discovered they had lots of star patterns and they liked the quilt blocks that look complicated but weren’t. So, they purchased fabric and made each quilt block.

Here it is today, “The Ladies” Quilt Pattern Book
