Make a Quilt Block Pattern using ONLY Squares with Beth Ann

When new to quilting I always say, “It’s only a square.” Start with a quilt block using Squares. Don’t over think it, it’s a square.  Here is my how to link for making squares, using freezer paper, I never think purchasing a cutting mat, ruler and rotary cutter in the first thing you need to purchase for quilting. Have a working sewing machine, good sewing thread and the best 100% cotton fabric you can afford.   AND ALWAYS ASK AROUND, friends will loan you a sewing machine, most will help with threading it, teaching you to sew a straight line, it can become an adventure

Quilt Pattern Changed to New Quilt Pattern for Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all, Mother’s, Sisters and Girl Friends. We can only do this all together and with each heart we step as one. Today, I am continuing to change up traditional quilt patterns. The quilt pattern block has a finished size of eight inches by eight inches.  The Complete quilt pattern book is at My pattern shop

The first quilt pattern is a traditional quilt block, the second is MINE, all dressed up.

There are a lot of way to make half-square triangles, I like the add 7/8″ method, as I find I can piece them to the right size pretty much all the time. Here is my how to for triangles

May Day Basket Quilt Pattern for YOU !

May Day is a WELCOME Spring and my May Day Basket Quilt Pattern. The tradition of leaving flowers and gifts on dMay Basket Quilt Block Pattern by The Quilt Ladiesoorsteps and the FIRST day to go barefoot outside. From my days with my Grandmother it was the day to move bee boxes and the day to plant corn, cucumber and turnip(which we never ate) in the garden.  I think my favorite is it’s Mary’s day, May and motherhood led Christians to adopt May as the month of our Lady, the Mother of God and our heavenly Mother.

As Quilter’s, May BASKET day and here is Mine for YOU !  Finished size of my quilt block is 14″ x 14″ and it’s all squares and triangles with straight piecing, so here we GO !   I have broken this quilt pattern down into sections. I am working on the quilt block (will share) it’s probably going to become a complete quilt pattern !   See My Quilt Pattern Shop
