Sew triangle unit together

Make Triangles

Cut 4 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Cut corner to corner

Sew triangle unit together

Cut 4 Background – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

Cut 12 Assorted Greens – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Sew 4 patch quilt blocks, Sew together as shown

Cut 4Background – 6 1/2″ X 6 1/2″
Cut 2 Red – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
Sew as Shown

The finished quilt block measures, fourteen inches by fourteen inches.

Free Quilt Block from The Ladies Quilt Pattern

This quilt block is from my quilt book which started my quilt pattern company “The Ladies” quilt pattern book.

“The Ladies” are The Quilt Ladies. They quilt every Tuesday together and after years of doing that, they’ve decided to do a quilt pattern book. So “The Ladies” was born, a quilt block sampler pattern book with 68 – Eight by Eight Inch quilt pattern blocks. If you make the quilt as in the book the finished quilt measures 76″ x 84″ All straight pieced, all cutting and piecing instructions included. And NOW in Print and eBook

Quilt Block has a finished size of eight inches by eight inches.

A Star Quilt Block

Make a Star – Log Cabin Quilt Block

Today’s free quilt block features a large star design. The center is a patchwork of various rectangular fabric pieces, with loads of patterns and colors. I used white to set the colors of the quilt block off. This quilt block has a finished size of
12″ x 12″ A mix of a star and log cabin quilt block.

One Quilt Block, So Many Ways

I want to show you how to take one quilt block and change it a bit and it will come together in a few different ways. Finished quilt block is four by four inches. See the complete quilt pattern Make it Special here

Cut 1 White – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 2 White – 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 2 Red – 1 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 2 Yellow – 1 ½” x 3 ½”

Sew as Shown

If you Make 12 Quilt Blocks below, 12″ x 16″quilt

Make Four Quilt Blocks
Larger block to Center 8″ x 8″ block

Make Four Quilt Blocks
Larger block to Outside 8″ x 8″ quilt block

Four-Patch Table Topper Quilt Pattern

Sew a Table Topper Quilt

4-Patch Table Topper Pattern for YOU. If you look close I did all my sewing by hand. Most will not, my office/library project continues….

Table Topper finished size 29″ x 34″

Cut 80 – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ squares

Piece together to form a 4-patch block

You will have 40 – 2-patch blocks

Open up the 2-patch blocks, press the seam to the

dark fabric side

and add another 2-patch

Matching up the seams, open to check and

make sure they match before sewing

You will have 20 – 4-Patch blocks

After the 20 – 4-patch blocks are finished,

lay them out as you would like them

making a red four patch quilt table topper

5 down and 4 across

This is the sashing and border fabric, I always lay it out and like it, BEFORE cutting

Cut 49 – 4 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ sashing

Cut 30 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ corner blocks

Stack your rows up and move to sewing table, I don’t have a felt wall, so I use my dining

room table to lay things out.

Sew a 4 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ strip to each end and in between

each in the row

Sew 6 rows as shown above, 4- 4 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ strips and 5- 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares. Sew the rows together

Cut 2 Sashing color – 26 1/2″ x 4 1/2″

Sew to the left and right sides

Make the corners

Cut 4 Dark Color – 4 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

Cut 4 Dark Color – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

Cut 4 Red – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

sew together 1 dark and 1 red,

sew dark 4 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ on

Cut 2 Sashing Color – 21 1/2″ x 4 1/2″

Sew to the top and bottom of the table topper

Finished size is

34″ x 29″

Birthday and February Quilt Pattern

With so much going on, I kind of missed my birthday… but I have reached the ripe old age of 66 and some days everything seems to hurt. My Florida swim body now feels a bit saggy, and I have learned a new morning routine of time to get everything moving again.
I have been trying to have self-care be more than a bubble bath. Taking walks, laughing quilting, drawing, read or just being, whatever helps me find peace within yourself and relaxes your mind.

Here is my February Quilt Pattern, shown in red, but any colors and white will work too. The Quilt Pattern is here At The Quilt Ladies Shop and in my book All in ONE Year Quilt Patterns

But, who needs a bikini body when you’ve got quilts, a bit of wisdom and experience of a life well-lived? I have family, friends, a huge cup of coffee, a quilt, a book and a comfy home. Life is wonderful
