Happy Holiday Quilt Pattern for YOU from The Quilt Ladies

This Holiday Season I’m doing a complete quilt pattern for you here on this site, every few days I will post a new part of the pattern. The finished quilt is fifty inches by fifty inches and can be made smaller or larger just by adding or reducing the borders sizes.

The quilt is made up of two different quilt blocks, square corners, pieced borders and solid outside borders. This is quilt block one. HERE is how I made my quilt triangles

Cutting if for TWO quilt blocks as shown above,

Cut 16 Red – 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″
Cut 16 Background – 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″

MAKE Triangles

Cut 8 Background – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

Cut 32 Assorted Greens – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ Sew 8, 4 patch quilt blocks, Sew together as shown

Cut 8 Background – 6 1/2″ X 6 1/2″ Cut 2 Red – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ Sew as Shown

The finished quilt block measures, fourteen inches by fourteen inches.

Day Sixteen of MONTH of AUGUST free Quilt Pattern Blocks

Hot and more hot here in Florida and….I love it, it’s why we are here. Today’s quilt pattern is a good one, if you have scraps around, change the pink strips to cut size, 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ squares, or piece out the center?? Just a few ideas to make the quilt block your own. This block is a finished quilt block size of eight inches by eight inches. Complete set of 68 quilt blocks here for you.

Cut 2 Red – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 2 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Make Triangles

Cut 1 White – 2 ½” x 4 ½”

Cut 4 White – 2 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 4 Blue – 2 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 4 Yellow – 2 ½” x 1 ½”

Cut 2 Pink – 8 ½” x 1 ½”

Sew as shown

This is Son #2’s Graduation quilt from 2000, the quilts been used and loved. And I just saw it hanging on a quilt stand at their house. I don’t remember this being expensive fabric but it has worn well, machine pieced and I had it long arm quilted. This has always been a favorite pattern of mine.
